ive heard that Welsh is very hard to learn unless it is your first language. does anyone know why?

right. so i'm an American that lives in California and i love the accents in the UK. The English accent (more Londoner) and Welsh accent just make me melt like ice on a triple-digit day. I wanna learn up on their vocabulary (just for the heck of it) and at the same time enjoy a movie. Any suggestions as to some authentic english/british/UK movies that i would enjoy? (not the mainstream american movies) Please list as many as you would like. I appreicate it! Thanks!!

This is something that is mentioned by Welsh football fans on forums that he can speak fluent Welsh and was born in bred in the Welsh speaking part of Patagonia and that he could speak it with Ryan Giggs when he was at Man Utd. But on wiki it says that he's from Entre Ríos and not Patagonia at all, so is this a BS urban myth?

I'm translating a poem from English to Welsh. I'm fluent in Welsh but I'm only 11 so I am unfamiliar with some words. I want to write the line 'enlighten me when confused" but the word enlighten is something I've never heard in Welsh. Enlighten translates as 'goleuo' on all of the online dictionaries which makes no sense as it means the sort of light you get from lamps. If you have an alternative word that would be wonderful too.

Is it the fact that they can all suddenly start talking Welsh as soon as a 'Foreigner' walks into one of their locals!
