She was born in Ystradgynlais, Powys, attended the Ysgol Maes Y Dderwen school, got a Bachelor of Arts degree in acting at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and performed for BBC Wales. I bet she speaks Welsh. On "Torchwood" she spoke English with a lovely Welsh accent.
