Size of rider for Welsh Pony?
How much weight can a 13 H Welsh Pony handle comfortable?
Would a rider that is 5'4 and 125 lbs be okay for 2 hours every few days, or is that too much weight?
Here is a picture of a pony the size I am talking about http://www.chregliamanor.com/Sales/Images/Benny/BennyLeft2.jpg

That’s fine. A 125 pound rider can ride any pony who weighs more than 600 pounds. Welsh ponies are typically very sturdy little ponies, you’ll be fine for a 13hh pony.

Look at the size of the rider on that little guy… but he does just fine! I know that pony personally and he has no trouble carrying a grown man with absolutely no ill effects.
I weigh the same as you and I regularly school a pony who’s 12.2hh… I’m taller though, haha, pony does just fine.
Now, if you want to show, you will need something bigger… but you could do Welsh breed shows (with only Welsh ponies) and that would be fine because all of the riders would be your size so you wouldn’t be penalized.

It really depends on the horses weight. for flat work with that rider the horse should weigh at least625 lbs and for jumping closer to 700. Im 5′7” but i sometimes ride a 13hh pony because im only 118 and the pony weighs 640.

That’s perfectly fine. Welsh’s are extremely strong and built very sturdily. They can typically carry more weight for their size than most horses. Most (even the little ones) are broken in by full size adults with no bad effects at all. I’m about the same size and trained an 11.3hh welsh for awhile. He was built extremely sturdily and could jump 3ft with me without hesitation. This was vet approved and it was said he was strong enough. I’ve seen full size men breaking in Welsh ponies!

If thats you on the pony, it looks fine. ponies are pretty tough and really if you only weigh 125 you can ride most ponies, the only problem you will have is making your legs short enough

If reasonably fit, Welsh Ponies can carry a full grown man – around 13 stones. They are very strong and if the rider is a good rider possibly a bit more since he is likely to be more balanced and in control their bodies to ride lighter than their weight.
