Although i am welsh born, I can`t speak a word of it. My son goes to a welsh school and im trying to help him with his homework which is in welsh. Does anyone know of a good site to help me with welsh translations, sentences,questions etc. I can find lots of sites that offer single word translations but not one that offers full sentences,etc.

I am in a relationship with a wonderful welsh guy, however it seems the small community he lives in, where i will be moving to, to start a family, seem to live solely on everything that is welsh, and i am all for honoring the place you grew up in however it is a dying race. its great if you never want to leave wales.

Looking at his friends, sister and nephew (sister is 10 and nephew is 9) when they leave a message on face book everything is spelt really badly, and im not just talking your usual spelling mistakes, and not just the kids either the adults seem to really struggle.

everything is done in welsh including school which i can accept and am willing to learn welsh to help my child however i want it to have the best start and that means a good education, the school there seems to have let his sister have 5months off school with a broken leg! no homework went home to her and no one seemed bothered.

can I in your view actually raise a child to a good standard of education?
I will be pushing my child and i know that sounds bad but I will be sitting down and doing homework and pushing for more so they can lead a fulfilled life.

is this possible?

I have to write a menu for my welsh homework. anyone have any ideas (in welsh/yn gymraeg) for food or meals?
