Will the Welsh hate me?

HI

My boyfriend is Welsh, and im moving to Wales with him next year, only prob is im half English and living there at the moment Im half Irish and lived there 3/4 of my life, when my boyfriends friends thought i was American (big mix up with his ex) they where fine with me when they found out i was from England some took the piss.

I know most of the Welsh hate the English, ive tried everything from learning Welsh History, spending as much time there as possible, and even trying to learn the language. I love my boyfriend and hes very proud to be Welsh and when we have our own family i want them to be Welsh and and proud of it...

unfortunatly im not proud of English History but its not my fault...What should i do to stop criticism??
No there maay not be a Wales without England but at least then they wouldnt have to suffer been ruled by the damn queen...Wales should have there independance just like northern Ireland should!!

Why do a lot of Welsh hate the English?

So do a lot of Scots, and Irish, for historical reasons, but none seem to hate us nearly as much as the North Welsh, they can be very hostile towards us, and I go there, sometimes, and to keep out of trouble, I learnt Welsh, and speak it whenever I go there, so then they may think I'm Welsh.

I ain't generallising, well, okay, I am, but the North Welsh seem to be very hostile...
Maybe, I am English, but I'm more Celtic (Irish, Cornish, Scottish, Welsh, etc) than I am English.
Nelly_num, you moron, they share the same Queen as us!
Roman C, I know my history, that's why I acknowleged the historical reasons!!

But the Welsh aren't exactly fluffly little bunnies either, they did plenty of pillaging of England!
Thanks, Fireball. Really helpful.

There was talk about the Queen stating something about it's official status in the 1950's but can't find that info or link to the facts.

Can Prince William speak Welsh?

Prince William is also known as William Wales. I read he is going to live in North Wales with his new fiancee Kate. Assuming prince Charles outlives the Queen William will become the new Prince of Wales. So I wondering how well he can speak Welsh.
From Wikipedia: By 2001 William was back in the United Kingdom and had enrolled, under the name William Wales, at the University of St Andrews.

Which should i learn German, Welsh, or Gaelic?

I want to learn a foreign language but i cant decide one and none besides German Welsh or Gaelic. Im in my 2nd year of German in High School so i have previous knowledge of German but i don't really try in that class so i haven't learned as much as i should of i guess. Gaelic- Im an Irish American and i have a ton of irish/scottish background like My great great great great aunt was the Queen of Scotland and i absolutely love the culture of Ireland. Welsh- Im going to want to some day live in the UK, Germany, or Ireland and Welsh seems like a pretty cool language, i do not have any previous knowledge of Welsh. So just whats your guys opinion on what i should learn and most likely i will end up living in one of these places?
