Hello,
I'm an American who is absolutely enthralled by Welsh language and culture. However, here in the states, there are VERY limited resources on language learning materials. I understand that the best way to learn this language is to travel to Wales, but even if I took that approach, I can't even find anything on home-stays, or even Welsh language programs abroad.
Does anybody know of any useful resources for learning this language? It could be anything that is available in the States (Books, software, CDs, etc?), or across the pond in Wales (study abroad programs).
Thanks in advance~

I was wondering because I'm American and I really want to learn Welsh becuase I might study abroad there in Abertawe if I keep my grades in check. Also the Welsh pronunciation guide from Wiki is really lacking in examples.
Thanks in advance.
diolch yn fawr
examples of my dillema,
diolCH, wiki says its pronounced like the Scottish "Loch" but I dont know how to pronounce that either.
and well the "c" sounds like a "k", wiki said, like.. 'cat'.
website i keep refering to as "wiki" http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Welsh/Alphabet

I've been toying with the idea of learning another language for a while, and I've always been fascinated with Japanese culture.
Note that it's not the written language, since it's supposedly one of the hardest to learn, but only the spoken language, and possibly the phonetic English way.
Right now, I only know English and a bit of Welsh.
And if you have any cheap/free ways to help, please add them.
Thanks in advance.

I'm looking for a translation of 'God is in the details' from English into Welsh. A simple Google translation comes up with 'Dduw yn y manylion', but I know that that isn't grammatically correct. Any help would be greatly appreciated to correct it!
Thanks in advance

I am writing a 10 page research paper on Paganism in Wales during the Middle Ages. I was wondering if anyone has any links, books, references, personal stories, etc that they could share. I found a book on Llewllyn the Great that mentions a little bit about Merlin and a couple of other druids, but I need more! Thanks in advance!

I'm looking for a decoration for a christmas tree with some welsh phrase on, or something that is uniquely welsh.

Anywho, do they speak Welsh all the time there? Also, do they teach in Welsh or in English at schools? Thanks in advance!
Thanks everyone! =)

This is just for intellectual curiosity because I really love languages a lot.
If Queen Elizabeth or Prince Charles or Prince William are in line for the throne or are currently on the throne, do they need to speak Welsh or Gaelic? It seems as though it would make sense even if they usually use English, but I was just wondering.
Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know of any films I can get in the US with people speaking Welsh. Or any websites that has sound files (preferably with full sentences spoken). Also, can someone recommend a website or audiobook that teaches pronunciation with soundfiles so I can hear it. Thanks in advance.
