British refers to the relation of the collective countries on the Isle we know as Great Britain. The English are just as British as the Welsh, and the Welsh are just as British as the English. Saying you're British is like a Canadian saying they are North-American. And to you maybe because you don't speak welsh you don't feel the connection.
